Before WIZO
Ofer was violently abused by his father. He was quick to pass on the aggression
to other children – resulting in further bruises. But Ofer’s scars went far
deeper. His eyes revealed a desperate longing for parental love and tenderness.
Then WIZO stepped into his life. WIZO began to rebuild his broken world,
lavishing upon him the care and attention he never had. Step by step, he
learned to have fun with other children and progressively responded to the
stable, loving environment. Thanks to WIZO, Ofer has blossomed into a cheerful,
chattering youngster with a buoyant personality.

WIZO Nurtures Israel’s Youngest Children – Body, Mind & Soul
WIZO policy is unique in the way we recognize each child as an individual, with natural abilities, sensitivities, needs and special characteristics.
WIZO’s educational philosophy is based upon the principles of good citizenship, respect for diversity, gender equality, and knowledge of Israel’s traditions.
WIZO ensures that every activity is exploited as an educational opportunity. For example, at meals, we teach nutrition, hygiene, manners and conversation skills.
WIZO day care centres regularly supplement standard programs with enrichment experts, including musicologists, storytellers, small-animal specialists with traveling mini-zoos, as well as language and communications specialists.
WIZO’s professional staff evaluates each child’s cognitive and sensory motor skills and diagnoses development disabilities.
WIZO day care centres feature a language and communication corner, for vocabulary building an enhancing listening and comprehension skills.
