Our Mission Statement
The CHW Toronto Centre is a volunteer women’s Zionist organization that
provides material and moral support to enhance the lives of women, children and
youth in Israel through its healthcare, education and social services projects.
It fosters and strengthens Jewish ideals and highlights the role of Israel in
today’s world. In Canada, CHW Toronto supports educational projects and
awareness of women’s issues.
Blavin Family Emergency Centre for Children at Risk at Hadassim
Children up to age 18 who have suffered severe trauma at home are brought to
this new centre, sometimes in the middle of the night. They arrive at the
centre pursuant to a court order to be protected from their parents.
For a period of 3-6 months, these children at risk are kept separate from the
rest of the school. During that time, under the care of a multi-disciplinary
professional team, the children are counselled, calmed and evaluated. This team
determines if a child can return to a capable parent or if the child will be
integrated within the community at Hadassim and placed within a Foster Family
Unit.
This Emergency Centre at Hadassim was built out of necessity for severely
traumatized children.
The children depend on your support.
Hadassim Children and Youth Village
